National cricket team captain Babar Azam has spoken openly about the speculations of the alleged verbal altercation with Shaheen Afridi after the defeat in the match against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup.
While holding a press conference in Lahore, captain Babar Azam was asked that the news about the dispute with Shaheen Afridi had come out, how are the two of you related, to which he replied that all the players in the team respect each other, me and him. There was no fight between Shaheen, the team meeting was tried to make it look like we had a fight but we love each other as much as we love our family.

Earlier in the media reports, it was revealed that after the defeat in the match against Sri Lanka in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup, there was a bitter conversation between Pakistan captain Babar Azam and fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi in the dressing room.

In the team meeting, Babar Azam had expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of some senior players, upon which Shaheen Shah Afridi encouraged Babar to acknowledge the players who performed well. Rizwan played the role of mediator in the situation.
