Nationwide crackdown against electricity thieves, hundreds arrested

A nationwide crackdown against electricity thieves by ‘Special Task Forces’ is ongoing, as a result of which many accused have been arrested and cases have been registered.

Operation against electricity thieves in Lahore

On the 19th day, the operation against the electricity thieves is continuing on behalf of the Lahore Electric Supply Company.

According to the spokesman Lesko, 359 connections have been found involved in electricity theft during operations, 14 more people involved in electricity theft have been arrested while cases have been registered against 178.

According to spokesperson Lesko, among the connections seized were 1 agricultural, 20 commercial and 338 domestic.

Operation against electricity thieves in Faisalabad

On the other hand, the Fesco spokesperson says that 71 more electricity thieves were caught from the eight districts of the Fesco region, the connections of the thieves were disconnected and fines of more than 94 lakh rupees were imposed.

According to the Fesco spokesperson, a total of 1702 electricity thieves have been caught from the Fesco region in 18 days, and a fine of more than 209.1 million was imposed on them in 18 days.

According to Fesco spokesperson, 7 crore rupees have been recovered from electricity thieves in 18 days, a total of 340 electricity thieves have been arrested while cases have been registered against 1597.

Gojwanwala: Operation against electricity thieves

It should be remembered that GAPCO’s surveillance teams are also conducting operations against electricity thieves.

According to Chief Executive GAPCO, 36 electricity thieves have been caught in the last 24 hours, while a fine of 1.85 million rupees has been imposed on the electricity thieves.

Operation against electricity thieves in Multan

Similarly, operation against electricity thieves and defaulters is going on in Mapco region.

According to Mapco spokesperson, 161 people were found involved in electricity theft in 13 districts of Multan in one day, cases have been registered against 143 electricity thieves.

The spokesperson of MAPCO says that the consumers involved in electricity theft have been fined 1 crore 29 lakh rupees.

Like other cities of the country, action is being taken against electricity thieves and defaulters in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: Operation against electricity thieves

According to Hesco spokesperson, more than 1 billion 68 crore 42 lakh rupees have been received so far.

Spokesman HESCO says that 907 cases have been filed against electricity thieves, 317 cases have been registered against electricity thieves and defaulters while 31 people involved in electricity theft have been arrested.

It should be noted that the recovery campaign is also going on in Sajawal and Thatta of HESCO.

According to Exion Hesco, 3 crore 34 lakh rupees have been collected from the defaulters while the electricity of 21 villages has been disconnected for non-payment of bills.

According to Exion Hesco, an FIR has been registered against 8 people, while non-government consumers of Thatta and Sajawal owe Rs 8.5 billion.

In Quetta crack down

The spokesperson of Kesco, the organization responsible for supplying electricity to various areas of Balochistan including Quetta, says that the crackdown against electricity thieves and defaulters is ongoing in all areas of Balochistan.

According to the spokesman Kesco, 168 connections have been disconnected in Quetta, Lorelai, Khuzdar, Pashin, Sibi and Makran due to non-payment, 3504 connections have been found involved in electricity theft in the province so far and a total of 338 cases have been registered against electricity thieves. IRs have been registered while 123 people involved in electricity theft have been arrested.

About Rs. 9.27 million fine has been charged for electricity theft while Rs. 5.70 million has been collected from power thieves.

Kesco spokesperson says that 378 million rupees have also been collected from 6422 defaulting customers in the province.
