Islamabad: Caretaker Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar has said that it is necessary to improve the transparency and governance of government owned institutions.
Caretaker Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar has told the PBC delegation in Karachi that the government is determined to increase the tax net for a strong economy, to solve the problems faced by the energy sector, to ensure the prosperity of the government-owned enterprises. Improvements in transparency and governance are essential.
Moreover, during the meeting of the caretaker federal finance minister with Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori, the economic challenges facing the country, strategies for improving the economic situation and other issues of mutual interest were discussed, besides measures to increase exports and investments. And other issues were also discussed. On this occasion, Governor Sindh said that the caretaker government’s steps to deal with economic challenges are commendable.
The finance minister said that incentives are being given to investors to increase investment, the caretaker government is determined to get the country out of the economic crisis.
