Nawab Shah;  Two SDOs and two linemen suspended for aiding in electricity theft

Nawab Shah: In two weeks, 51 cases were registered and 4 people were arrested for electricity theft, while two SDOs and two linemen were suspended for aiding and abetting electricity theft.

According to Superintendent Engineer Hesco Gulzar Dasti, a campaign against electricity theft and bill defaulters has been going on for two weeks in Hesco Circle, during which 51 cases of electricity theft have been registered and 4 people have been arrested.

According to Gulzar Dasti, two SDOs and two linemen have also been suspended for assisting in electricity theft.

The superintendent engineer said that 2 crore 43 lakh rupees fine has been collected from 814 illegal connection consumers and 23 crore 88 lakh rupees has been collected from electricity consumers in arrears.

Superintendent Engineer Hesco said that a fine of five crore rupees was imposed by cutting off the power of the steel factory for theft in Tandoadam.

He said that a letter has been sent to the police to register a case against 380 connection users involved in electricity theft.

Gulzar Dasti said that the public should remove the illegal connections themselves, the users will be metered within 24 hours after taking new connections.

He said that 70 new transformers have been installed in Heskocircle, while the number of electricity consumers in Sanghar, Nawabshah, Matiari divisions is three and a half lakh.
