Islamabad: In the joint session of the Parliament, Member of the National Assembly Maulana Akbar Chitrali announced not to give one month’s salary to the government for the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
In the joint session of the Parliament chaired by Raja Pervez Ashraf, the members of the National Assembly announced to give one month’s salary to the earthquake victims of Turkey and Syria, while Maulana Akbar Chitrali, a member of Jamaat-e-Islami, opposed it.
Maulana Abdul Kabar Chitrali announced that he will not give his one month salary to the Prime Minister Relief Fund, saying that I do not trust you, I will give my salary to the Salary-ul-Khidmat Foundation.
On this, Speaker National Assembly said that all the members except Maulana Abdul Kabar Chitrali announced to give their salary voluntarily, except Maulana Chitrali, one month’s salary of all will be given in Turkiya Wisham funds.
In the meeting, opposition leader Raja Riaz supported giving one month’s salary to the earthquake victims.
It should be noted that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has established a fund to help the earthquake victims of Turkey and Syria, in which the cabinet has announced to give one month’s salary and officers above grade 16 to give one day’s salary.
