Islamabad: Caretaker Information Minister Murtaza Solangi has said that Nawaz Sharif went out of jail not by breaking out of jail but with the permission of the government and will be treated according to the law.
While giving a press conference at the Karachi Press Club, he said that Nawaz Sharif did not break the prison walls and went out, but went abroad with the permission of the court and the then government. And will be treated according to law, Nawaz Sharif will decide whether to take security or not.
He said that conducting elections is the work of the Election Commission and the caretaker government will fulfill all the requirements of the Election Commission under its constitutional responsibility. Like it or not, elections are always held in the Karachi Press Club, from here the voice for the most democracy rises.
He said that the welfare of journalists is in the priorities, the Karachi Press Club has an important role for freedom of expression, although the caretaker government has come for a limited period, but they will do everything possible for the problems of journalists.
The Caretaker Information Minister said that due to past experiences, there is confusion in the minds of some people regarding elections and it is the business of some people to create confusion, there is no such confusion in the mind of me or the Caretaker Government, the Election Commission announced. That elections will be held in January, hopefully the date will be given soon.
He said that equal opportunities will be provided to all the registered political parties on the occasion of the election while all the resources will be provided to the Election Commission for free and transparent elections.
He said that 11 years have been spent saying election in 90 days, we will fulfill our constitutional responsibility very soon, we do not have the power to legislate but we will do what we can to solve the problems, the final list of constituencies on November 30. It will be given and I am sure that the final date of the election will also be given.
He further said that if anyone thinks that the Election Commission is doing something illegal and unconstitutional, then the courts are open in this regard.
