Lahore: Senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League (N) and former Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that his party extended the tenure of former Army Chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa to deal with the political attacks of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf. was supported.

In an interview to a private TV channel, he said, “Some decisions were as per the requirements of the time and this (extension of General Bajwa’s tenure) was one such decision.” Rana Sanaullah termed the decision to support General Bajwa’s extension in 2020 as a party strategy.

It should be noted that Rana Sanaullah has publicly condemned the ex-military leadership for the second time in just two days. Earlier, he also criticized former generals Bajwa and Faiz Hameed, calling them “national criminals” and demanding punitive measures against them.

Rana Sanaullah had said that “Just like the Muslim League (N) brought General Musharraf to justice, it will do the same to (both of them).”

Earlier, another PML-N leader, Khurram Dastgir Khan, blamed some former Supreme Court judges and ex-army generals for the current wave of inflation and increase in electricity bills.

It should be noted that the leader of Muslim League (N) Nawaz Sharif had earlier accused Qamar Javed Bajwa of bringing down his government, putting pressure on the judiciary and bringing Imran Khan’s government in the 2018 elections, but his younger brother, former minister Azam Shahbaz Sharif appreciated the services of the former army chief while bidding him farewell in November 2022.
