Islamabad: Rawalpindi High Court bench has issued a notice to Regional Police Officer Rawalpindi Khurram Ali in the case of former Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed’s nephew Sheikh Shakir and his employee missing for 5 days and summoned the court personally on Tuesday, September 26 with a detailed report.

The petition against the disappearance of former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed was heard by Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan, judge of the Rawalpindi High Court bench. When the hearing started, a report was presented by CPO Rawalpindi in which he said that the former interior minister was arrested from the limits of Islamabad, Rawalpindi police has no knowledge about it.

The court dismissed the report as false and declared that three officers including the former minister should be arrested from the city and the police should say that he does not know. The court ordered the RPO to appear before the court in person.

It should be noted that former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, nephew Sheikh Shakir and employee Imran have been missing for 5 days.

Request to de-seal Lal Haveli immediately rejected

Meanwhile, the Rawalpindi High Court bench, accepting the petition against the cancellation of the ownership registry of Lal Haveli and sealing it for hearing, issued notices to both Chairman Waqf Matruka Amalak and Deputy Administrator Rawalpindi Asif and called for a detailed report on Tuesday, September 26. Kirlia and Lal Haveli rejected the request for immediate de-sealing.

High Court Rawalpindi Bench Judge Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal heard the petition and said that let the Waqf Department respond to the abandoned property after which appropriate action will be taken.

This petition was filed in the court of Justice Chaudhry Iqbal due to the leave of Justice Jawad Hassan. Safai’s lawyers argued that Lal Haveli is owned by Sheikh Siddique, the elder brother of the former interior minister, which was registered in 1988. It is illegal to cancel it. And action should be taken against Chairman Waqf abandoned properties.
