The Islamabad High Court has ordered the Interior Secretary to conduct an inquiry against the police officers involved in illegal arrests on the arrests against the legal principles laid down by the higher courts.
Justice Hasan Aurangzeb of Islamabad High Court issued a decision on Ali Wazir’s protective bail application and said that the police made repeated arrests in serious violation of legal principles, despite the disapproval of the higher courts, the Islamabad police continued operations. .
The judgment further stated that the Islamabad Police had ignored the legal principles laid down by the Lahore High Court, and the Interior Secretary should conduct an inquiry against the officers involved in the repeated arrests.
The court also granted seven-day anticipatory bail to former Member of National Assembly Ali Wazir in two cases and also restrained the police from arresting and assisting in the arrest of Ali Wazir, while Ali Wazir was given till September 26 to approach the respective courts of Tarnool and Taxila. An order was also issued.
The court also issued orders to send a copy of the judgment to the Secretary, IG Interior Islamabad, and DGFIA.
