Lahore: Anti-corruption department registered another case against PTI President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.
According to the details, the number of cases against Parvez Elahi has increased to 6, while a new case has been registered on the charge of increasing the crushing quota of sugar mills. 3 accused including former secretary Dr Khurram Shahzad have been arrested in the case of sugar mills.
Apart from this, former federal minister Khusro Bakhtiar’s brother Makhdoom Umar Shehryar is also named in the case, other accused include Monis Elahi, Ahlia Tahirim Elahi, former director general of industries Rao Parvez Akhtar, Nawaz Cheema, Munir Hussain, Imaduddin, former deputy commissioner Rahim. 5 officers including Yar Khan and Assistant Commissioner Liaquatpur will be appointed after investigation.
In the FIR, it was said that a committee was formed to increase the efficiency of sugar mills, a 4-member committee headed by DG Industries Parvez Akhtar did illegal work.
According to the FIR, Special Secretary to CM Khurram Shahzad, DG Agriculture Anjum Ali and DC Salman Lodhi were members of the committee. The crushing capacity of the sugar mill was 17000 tons, Pervez Elahi approved to increase the capacity in 2022 which was 22000 thousand tons per day. Both the sugar mills illegally increased the capacity to 42000 tons, Munis Elahi and Tahirim Elahi are shareholders in both the sugar mills.
