Lahore: A two-member bench of the Lahore High Court dismissed NAB’s intra-court appeal as inadmissible against the single bench’s decision to prevent Parvez Elahi from being arrested in any case.

According to Express News, a two-member bench comprising Justice Ali Baqir Najafi and Justice Raheel Kamran of Lahore High Court heard the appeal of NAB. NAB had taken a stand in the intra-court appeal that the decision of the single bench is contrary to the facts, NAB has only a two-member bench to hear the cases, the single bench prevented Parvez Elahi from being arrested in any case contrary to the facts. .

NAB had requested that the court declare the decision of the single bench null and void and suspend the decision of the single bench until the final decision of the appeal, but the Lahore High Court rejected the request.

A two-member bench of the Lahore High Court upheld the single-bench decision not to arrest Parvez Elahi in any case and the two-member bench dismissed NAB’s appeal as inadmissible.

Pervez Elahi transferred to jail on judicial remand in two cases of corruption

The Judicial Magistrate of the District Court in Lahore rejected the anti-corruption body’s request for physical remand in two corruption cases and ordered Parvez Elahi to be sent to jail.

On behalf of the anti-corruption authorities, the former Chief Minister of Punjab and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Central President Pervaiz Elahi was produced in the District Court of Kachhari in the cases of bogus recruitment and appointment of Muhammad Khan Bhatti as Principal Secretary by misuse of powers in the Punjab Assembly. .

The anti-corruption officials requested the court for a fourteen-day physical remand of Parvez Elahi, which was opposed by the lawyer of the former chief minister of Punjab. After hearing the arguments, the Judicial Magistrate reserved the judgment and then issued it.

The Judicial Magistrate of District Kachhari ordered Parvez Elahi to be judicially charged in both the cases.

After the court verdict, Parvaiz Elahi’s lawyers demanded that he be transferred to Adiala Jail, while the anti-corruption authorities took the stand that Pervaiz Elahi will be transferred to Lahore Jail.
