Lahore: A grand ceremony was held in honor of legendary actress Mumtaz Begum in Al Hamra, in which film star Meera, Sangeeta, actor Shahid, Ghulam Mohiuddin, singer Arif Lohar, Shiza Jahan, Gulab, Nirmal Shah, film director Syed Noor, Parvez Kaleem, Hassan Askari, Comedian Tahir Nawaz, Shahid Khan, Azhar Rangeela and other showbiz industry personalities participated.
Provincial Secretary Information and Culture Punjab Ali Nawaz Malik was the chief guest of the event.
On this occasion, not only tributes were paid to the famous actress Mumtaz, but medals were also worn in recognition of the meritorious services of eminent artists, singers and film directors.
In a colorful ceremony organized by Pakistan Film Industry Lahore and Council and CJFP, eminent singers sang film songs of Mumtaz Begum and actresses presented dance performances on her songs. Various film personalities highlighted the artistic services of Mumtaz Begum. In the ceremony, a documentary based on the beautiful scenes of Mumtaz Begum’s films was shown which was liked by the audience.
The artists who performed singing and dance performances included Arif Lohar, Sher Miandad Khan, Nirmal Shah, Gulab, Mahim Rehman, Zeenat Noor, Shiza Jahan, Naseer Khawaja, Azhar Rangeela, Nimreen Butt and Reena Multani. Dir Lahore Arts Council Tariq Mehmood Chaudhary, Filmstar Shahid, Filmstar Ghulam Mohiuddin, Sangeeta, Meera, Dardana Rehman, Syed Noor, Altaf Hussain, Shahzad Rafiq, Agha Hassan Askari, Jarar Zovi, Rashid Mahmood, Chaudhry Ijaz Kamran, Zulfikar Ali, Chairman of Pakistan Film Producers Association. Mana, Filmmaker Safdar Malik, Amrozia, Pappu Samrat, Muhammad Parvez Kaleem, Tahir Anjum, Shahid Khan, Basuchaudhri, Haider Raj Multani and other personalities participated.
In the event, CJFP and Ashraf Khan presented medals to the personalities who showed high performance related to showbiz industry. Mumtaz Begum was awarded a special shield by the Cultural Journalists Foundation of Pakistan. It is to be remembered that the film star Mumtaz Begum left the film world and moved to Canada 32 years ago at the peak of her career and now she has come to Pakistan with her son Zeeshan Raheel Bari after a long time.
