Karachi: The value of the dollar increased further in the interbank market, while the value of the dollar remained stable in the open market.
On Monday, the dollar saw a fluctuating value in the interbank market, at the end of the business day, the dollar closed at Rs 269.44 with a limited gain of 16 paisa at the end of the business day, while the open currency market closed unchanged at Rs 273.
Experts say that the country needs 5 billion dollars for its monthly imports and there are also reports in the market that the value of the dollar in the interbank exchange will be around 265 to 270 rupees. After this, the pressure on the rupee is likely to ease.
At the beginning of the business day on Monday, the inter-bank rate of the dollar fell by 28 paisa to the level of 269 rupees, but after that, the dollar started flying at a limited level due to the increase in demand, which at one point the inter-bank rate of the dollar was 47 paisa. It also increased to the level of Rs 269.75. The rupee remained under pressure against the dollar due to a significant gap between demand and supply.
