The government has announced a reward scheme for those who send money from abroad through banking channels.
Caretaker Finance Minister Shamshad Akhtar said that 20 billion rupees have been released for the reward scheme, those who are sending money from abroad will receive their relatives here for free.
Shamshad Akhtar said that Sohni Dharti has created a remittance scheme for overseas Pakistanis, those sending remittances above $100 will be able to receive them here without any fees.
The Caretaker Finance Minister said that remittance senders will be given points, under which services and goods can be availed from many government institutions at discounted rates, cash prizes will also be given through a draw among those who send more remittances. .
He said that the government will also provide incentives for exchange companies, incentives will be given in lieu of marketing for sending remittances through legal channels.
