Two-way flights from Karachi to Rahim Yar Khan were canceled while PK 368 from Karachi to Islamabad was delayed.

The debt-ridden national airline needs Rs 33 billion for mandatory payments to domestic and foreign institutions, including salaries.
Due to non-disbursement of funds by the Finance Ministry and caretaker government, work on Plan B has been initiated, under which the national airline’s flight operations will be partially suspended and flights on unprofitable routes will be reduced. will be brought or they will be closed.
According to sources, under Plan B, PIA’s domestic and international flight operations will be partially stopped and the national airline’s operations will be reduced by 15 to 25 percent. will be reduced.
Domestic flight operations will be limited in the first phase and international flight operations in the second phase.
Under the proposed plan, flights to Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Gilgit and Skardu will be restricted while in the second phase flights to other Gulf countries including UAE, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia will be restricted.
According to the sources, PIA, a victim of the financial crisis, has reduced its operational fleet and grounded 16 aircraft, while due to non-supply of funds by the Ministry of Finance, it has started contacting commercial banks to take loans.
