Bollywood star Govinda will be investigated in connection with a Rs 1,000 crore online fraud scheme.
According to Indian media reports, Govinda is neither an accused nor a suspect, but he may become a witness for an agency called the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW).
A company embezzled in the name of crypto investment, Govinda promoted the company through videos.
The IG of EOW said that we will soon send a team to Mumbai to interrogate Govinda.
He said that the film star had attended the function organized by the said company in Goa and had also promoted it by making some videos.
The company has stolen Rs 30 crore from 10,000 people, including investors in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Jharkhand and other states.
The Indian agency had arrested the country head of the company and the head of Orissa state on August 7.
