Benami Act;  The government has given special powers to the courts for trial

Islamabad: The news has come to light for those involved in tax evasion, corruption and financial fraud, the government has assigned special powers to the courts for trial under the Benami Act 2017.

According to Express News, in this regard, the Ministry of Law and Justice has issued an official notification to give powers to the courts, under which special powers have been given to the District and Sessions Courts for Sindh, Courts of Additional District and Sessions Judges for KP. have been given special powers.

Similarly, special powers have been given to the District and Sessions Judges for Balochistan, and special powers have been assigned to the Court of Additional District and Sessions Judges II for Punjab. Special powers have also been assigned to the Court of District and Sessions Judge One for Islamabad.

According to the notification, the jurisdiction of the Special Courts will cover all the four provinces including Islamabad. The Chief Justice of the Provincial, Islamabad High Court recommended the names for the Special Courts.

According to the sources, the cabinet had approved giving the powers of special courts to the designated courts.

Sources say that every trial under the Benami Act 2017 will be completed speedily, the special courts will complete the trial within 6 months of filing the complaint.
