Islamabad: The visiting Sri Lankan dance troupe in Pakistan captivated the hearts of the audience by presenting a spectacular performance of Kanya, a traditional Sri Lankan dance program.
Federal Minister for National Cultural Heritage Jamal Shah, Sri Lankan Consul General Sri Lanka Jagat Abhivarna in Pakistan National Council of the Arts and Embassy of Sri Lanka organized the event. Apart from PNCA Director General Ayub Jamali, a large number of fans participated.
Sri Lankan singer Sonal Prabhashita unleashed her vocal magic in Kanya while Sri Lankan dance troupe Chandana Wickremsinghe Dancers Guild presented a powerful dance based on the theme of “Lila Me Leela”, Heritage Sri Lanka, Traditional Devadasi, Ridham Rata and drums on Thammattam. Played which was loved by the fans.
Famous Sri Lankan dance master Chandana said that he performed in different cities of Pakistan but there was no response from the fans of Islamabad.
Talking to Express, he said that friendly relations between Sri Lanka and Pakistan are getting stronger with the passage of time. After performing in Karachi and Lahore performed in Islamabad, Pakistani people love art and artists.
