Islamabad: Maulana Fazlur Rehman has reacted to the president’s suggestion of the date of the elections and said that Arif Alvi is a biased president representing a party.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, responding to the date of the election by the President, said that it is not the power of the President to give the date of the election, even if the President has the power, its use is malicious because the President represents a party. He is a biased president.
Fazlur Rehman said that the Election Commission is not bound to accept any order or proposal of the President, it is an institution itself. The President has suggested to approach a court which is supporting Imran Khan and PTI. The president threw the ball to the judiciary and the judiciary threw it to the president.
He said that President Arif Alvi has tried to bring divisiveness in the country’s system, with this futile debate, an attempt has been made to influence the election matters. What forces are supporting the president? Who wants political instability in the country?
The JUI chief said that this approach is not right in Pakistan’s politics, it is an attempt to confuse the institutions but it will not succeed. He said that the president’s hours are known and he himself is running on bonus, Arif Alvi should stay in his hours until the new president comes after the term is over. He said that they do not give the authority of the date of elections to the judiciary, nor to the president nor to the prime minister, this authority belongs to the Election Commission.
Fazlur Rehman said that there is no alliance of any party in Sindh yet, contacts are going on with some parties in Sindh, there is no contact with People’s Party. Yesterday Muhammad Mian Soomro came for a meeting, there was no discussion about his joining JUI.
