London: Millions of people around the world suffer from tooth decay, cavities and cavities, but now a natural molecule has been discovered that can reduce these diseases by 90%.
Israel’s Ben Gurion University and the National University of Singapore have jointly identified an important naturally occurring molecule, 3,3′-Diindolylmethane or DIM, also known as ‘bicindol’. This molecule is called ‘Diindolylmethane’ (DIM) which mainly inhibits the adhesion of Streptococcus (S) mutans to the teeth.
First, a biological layer (biofilm) forms on the teeth and plaque builds up on top of it, then caries and cavities form in the teeth while this molecule prevents plaque from building up on the teeth. Experts believe that this major disease can be eliminated by adding DIM to toothpaste and mouthwash.
According to a report published in the journal Antibiotics, this biofilm contains S. mutans bacteria, which is also the leading cause of tooth decay, which forms a yellow layer and destroys the animal. DIM can inhibit this process by up to 90%.
Interestingly, this molecule is relatively safe and can be used in toothpaste, but it will be tested in humans first.
