Islamabad: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar has directed to timely identify all elements who are spreading chaos in the name of religion in Gilgit and take strict action against them.

A Gilgit-Baltistan Cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, in which the Gilgit-Baltistan Cabinet briefed the Prime Minister on various issues.

The issue of non-provision of subsidy on wheat production in Gilgit-Baltistan was also discussed in the meeting.

The Prime Minister assured the political leadership of Gilgit-Baltistan of all possible cooperation from the Federation. The Prime Minister emphasized on increasing self-reliance by fully utilizing the agricultural potential of local arable land instead of relying on government subsidies.

He said that all sectors of the country have to focus their attention and energy on creating self-reliance so that the country’s economy can be on the path of recovery. The Gilgit-Baltistan Cabinet also gave suggestions to the Prime Minister to bring investment and business development in Gilgit.

In the meeting, the Prime Minister directed the relevant authorities to formulate a comprehensive strategy for the economic recovery of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Discussing the law and order situation in Gilgit-Baltistan, the Prime Minister said that the protection of the citizens of Pakistan is the responsibility of the state. Spreading chaos in the name of religion is intolerable and strict action will be taken against such persons.

The Vice Prime Minister was informed about the progress in IT, health, education and other sectors and was briefed about various issues. The participants of the meeting said that in all the districts of Gilgit-Baltistan, especially Diamar and Astor districts, steps have been taken to identify and solve the issues of the education sector in a timely manner. , reconstruction of educational buildings and rehabilitation of dilapidated buildings, professional training of teachers, construction of smart schools based on modern technology are on top.

The Prime Minister was informed in the briefing that the progress in the health sector in Gilgit-Baltistan was also informed that a 24-hour helpline has been established for the prevention of mental disorders. In the briefing, the Prime Minister was also briefed on the progress in the environmental and tourism sectors.

The Prime Minister directed the administration and leadership of Gilgit-Baltistan to review the effectiveness of all the existing development projects and to pay more attention to the projects with valuable benefits.
