Nanapatikar broke his silence on the removal of his character Udaybhai from the third sequel of the popular comedy film Welcome.
It should be noted that this role played by Nanapatekar was well liked by the fans and even today stills or a few seconds of clips from the film are used liberally in social media memes.
Along with Udaybhai, the dialogues of the film’s other character Majnubhai, played by Anil Kapoor, have also been a part of memes with the same continuity.
Welcome 3 is titled as Welcome to the Jungle, the filmmakers have informed that now Udaybhai (Nana Patekar) and Majnubhai (Anil Kapoor) will not be seen in the film, instead they will be replaced by Munnabhai MBBS. Jodi Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi will be seen.
However, while talking about being dropped from Welcome 3 at the trailer launch of his new film Vaccine War, Nana Patekar said, “Maybe I am too old that’s why they didn’t cast me for Welcome 3.”
He criticized the producers of the movie Welcome 3 and said that maybe the filmmakers of The Vaccine War didn’t think that I have grown old, that’s why they cast me for the film.
