Prominent Indian actor Prakash Raj’s ‘anti-Hindu’ remarks led to protests in the state of Karnataka.
Pro-Hindu groups have protested actor Prakash Raj’s recent arrival in Karnataka over his ‘anti-Hindu’ statements, with black flags raised and protesters dressed in black chanting slogans against the actor.
According to Indian media reports, many protesters protesting against actor Prakash Raj have been detained by the police.
A day before the actor’s arrival in Karnataka, members of Hindu organizations submitted a memorandum listing their reasons for opposing the actor, in which Hindu organizations also demanded a ban on Prakash Raj’s entry into the city.
According to Indian media, this is not the first time that Prakash Raj has faced opposition from right-wing groups.
A few weeks ago, right-wing members ‘purified the places’ visited by Prakash Raj by sprinkling cow urine in protest.
According to Indian media, on August 20, before the moon landing of India’s Chandrayaan 3 mission, the actor shared a sketch of the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi making tea on micro-blogging site X, which he later tweeted. Apologized saying it was a reference to a Malayalam joke.
According to the Indian website India Today, Prakash Raj once said in his interview in 2018 that people think I am ‘anti-Hindu’ but this is not true, I am anti-Modi, Amit Shah and Hegde.
(Here he was referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and late BJP leader Anant Kumar Hegde.)
