Peshawar: NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has filed a reference of 1 billion 98 million rupees against 31 accused including 19 officers of Pak PWD for corruption in the merged districts.

According to Express News, massive embezzlement has been revealed in the SDGs projects in the merged districts of Khyber, Bajaur and Mohmand. NAB has completed the investigation on charges of illegal contracts and corruption and 31 including 19 officers of Pak PWD. A reference of 1098 million rupees was filed against the accused in the accountability court.

It is mentioned in the reference that the government had allocated a fund of around 1800 million rupees for development schemes in the three districts under the SDGs program, the said fund was for 52 development schemes in the three districts, Fund 2021. 22 was allocated in which the accused illegally awarded 47 contracts through collusion.

It is stated in the reference that the accused have also made payments on fake measurement books, the accused have caused a loss of 1098 million rupees to the national exchequer through collusion, illegal contracts and fake measurement books.
