Lahore: The High Court has remarked during the hearing on the contempt petition that it would not be appropriate to call the IG Islamabad in any other way. If Allah has given honor to someone, let him maintain it.
A hearing was held in the Lahore High Court on the contempt of court petition filed by Qaisra Elahi against the non-delivery of former Chief Minister Punjab Pervaiz Elahi to his home, in which DIG Investigation and DIG Operations Justice Mirza Waqas Rauf. Appeared face to face.
During the hearing, the response was submitted to the court by the police officers. On this occasion, Parvez Elahi’s lawyer asked for time to see the reply, while the IG Islamabad did not appear in the court. During the hearing, the public prosecutor told the court that SP Imran Aslam has investigated the matter, Islamabad police arrested Parvez Elahi according to the law.
When the hearing resumed after a short break, the IG Islamabad Police did not appear and no reply was filed, while the DIG Operations, DIG Investigation and SSP Operations did appear on the order of the court. The police officers submitted the responses to the show cause notice in the court. IG Punjab conducted an inquiry into the matter on the order of the court and submitted the report.
In the inquiry report presented in the court, it was stated that the Islamabad police arrested Parvez Elahi under the law. The police officers had fully complied with the order of the Lahore High Court.
Pervez Elahi’s lawyer Asif Cheema argued that I should be given time to see the report and to see the responses filed by the two police officers. Lahore High Court has approved the bail of Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in all the cases. Chaudhry Parvez Elahi was released from NAB custody. The court summoned the DIG Operation and DIG Investigation and issued a written order.
It was argued by the lawyer that the court ordered the police officers to bring him home safely. Chaudhry Parvez Elahi was picked up in the presence of both police officers. Both the police officers did not protect Chaudhry Pervez Elahi contrary to the court order. The lawyer requested that the court take contempt of court action against the DIG investigation and DIG operation.
Later, the court remarked that we would not find it appropriate to call the IG Islamabad in any other way. If Allah has given honor to someone, let him maintain it. Now check how IG will come to Islamabad.
The court adjourned the next hearing of the case till September 18.
