The Supreme Court has called for a JIT report on the Jaranwala incident

Islamabad: The Supreme Court sought a report from the JIT on the Jardanwala incident and also issued notices to the Secretary Religious Affairs, Chairman Awqaf, Attorney General and Advocate General and sought their response.

The case related to the Jardanwala tragedy was heard by a 3-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan. During the hearing, Sardar Bishan Singh told the court that there is a fear among our youth that they are being targeted for killing. It is requested that the Awqaf Department should build four walls around the Gurudwaras and protect them from the encroachment groups. The Qabsa group does not see any temples, mosques, Gurudwaras etc.

During the hearing, the details of the destruction of gurdwaras in Lahore were also submitted to the Supreme Court by the minority leader. The court was told that after the Jaranwala tragedy, hate speeches are also being made. In the light of the agreement with a religious party, our settlements are now patrolled and it is seen that no one is insulting religion.

It is requested from the court that the relevant authorities should also be summoned for this agreement, on which the Supreme Court ordered the Interior Secretary and the concerned IGs to submit a report while also seeking a detailed report from the IGKP on the matter of target killing. Did it.

In the court’s remarks during the hearing, it was said that the state should ensure the protection of the Sikh community and ensure the protection of the guarantees given in the constitution regarding the minorities. The Supreme Court has called for a report from the JIT on the Jardanwala tragedy, while notices have been issued to the Secretary Religious Affairs and Chairman Awqaf regarding the plight of the temples. The Attorney General of Pakistan and the Advocate General have also been issued notices and have been asked to respond.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case for an indefinite period.
