Crackdown against electricity theft, prompt prosecution and arrest instructions

Rawalpindi: The government has started a crackdown against electricity theft. In this regard, the authorities have issued strict instructions to the concerned institutions.

Strict instructions have been issued to the Rawalpindi Police regarding the operation against electricity thieves. In this regard, CPO Rawalpindi Khalid Hamdani has sent a letter to the Divisional SPs, Sub-Divisional Police Officers and SHOs, in which it has been said that the Ministry of Energy (Power Division) has developed a strategy to prevent electricity theft. It has been decided.

It has been directed in the letter that while implementing the strategy against the electricity thieves, as soon as the prosecution or request for action against the thieves is received, the case should be registered immediately. Any delay in registering the FIR against the electricity thieves. Do not behave. No FIR should be pending against electricity thieves in any police station.

In connection with the crackdown, it has been further said that when cases are filed against electricity thieves, the accused should be arrested as soon as possible. The details of daily actions against electricity thieves should be sent to the CPO control room at 11 pm every day. All the records should also be uploaded on the online pollcom system of Punjab Police.
