Karachi: The remittances sent by Overseas Pakistanis last month recorded a decrease on both annual and monthly basis.
In January 2023, remittances sent by overseas Pakistanis recorded a decrease of 13.14% on annual basis. Overseas Pakistanis sent remittances worth one billion 894.9 million dollars last month.
In addition to annual, monthly remittances from overseas Pakistanis have also decreased. On a monthly basis, remittances have decreased by 9.99% in the last month of January 2023.
Overseas Pakistanis sent remittances of $16 billion in July-January 2022-23, which is 11 percent less than the remittances of $17.987 billion sent in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
