Israel and Russia signed a joint film production agreement yesterday after 15 years of efforts.
This has been announced by the Ministry of Culture of Russia. Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova said that Russia and Israel will not only produce joint films, but also present them at international film festivals.
“I know how much the professional community is waiting for this document and how important it is to our joint work,” he said.
Speaking during the signing ceremony of the agreement with the Israeli Ambassador Alexander Ben-Zvi, the Minister of Culture of Russia said that there are many plans for the future and I am sure that this agreement will take our joint work to the next stage.
An official statement issued by Moscow said that the agreement will allow both parties to exchange their experiences and create joint projects in the field of cinema.
According to the statement, this agreement will increase the distribution of Russian and Israeli films and will provide additional funds to the film industries of both countries.
The Israeli ambassador posted in Russia said that through the agreement, there will be an opportunity to increase cultural relations between Russia and Israel.
He said that I am sure many joint films will be made, producers are interested in sharing their experiences.
He said that Israeli films are of very good quality, the people of Russia will also like them.
In a statement issued by Russia, it was said that negotiations had been going on for 15 years to bring this agreement to the final stage.
