The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved an increase in hydropower generation tariff by 28.8383%. Nepra issued a decision in this regard
The average production tariff of hydropower has been increased from Rs 3 85 paise to Rs 4 96 paise per unit.
NEPRA has approved the tariff increase for 2022-23 on the request of WAPDA, the decision to increase the tariff of hydropower has been sent to the federal government.
NEPRA has decided to conduct the capacity test of WAPDA’s hydroelectric power stations and issued orders to CPPA to conduct the test and instructed to submit the capacity test report of all the hydropower stations.
Nepra says that WAPDA should install water flow meters to measure water.
