Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court dismissed the contempt of court petition filed against Parvez Elahi after his re-arrest after his release from jail.

A hearing was held in front of Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri on the contempt petition against IG Islamabad and DC Islamabad. SSP Operations, SHO Police Station Shalimar and others were made parties in the contempt petition filed by Parvez Elahi.

Advocate Sardar Abdul Razzaq appeared in the court on behalf of the petitioner and it was requested on behalf of the petitioner that contempt of court proceedings be taken against them by summoning the parties. The parties should be punished under the Contempt of Court Ordinance for disobeying the court order. Departmental action orders should be issued against the parties for misuse of authority.

Islamabad High Court Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri inquired that Pervez Elahi was not released? To which the lawyer replied that Parvez Elahi was arrested near the police lines after being released.

The court remarked that there is a difference between not releasing Parvez Elahi and re-arresting him in another case. There is no such order of this court that they cannot be arrested in any other case. If despite the order of this court, they are not released in 3MPO, ​​it will be contempt of court.

The lawyer replied that the Lahore High Court had ordered not to arrest him in any case, on which the court said that then the contempt of court petition would be filed in the Lahore High Court. There is no such order of this court. The court ordered that he should be released if he is not wanted in any other case. If he has been arrested in any other case, that matter has to be looked into by the concerned trial court.

Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri remarked that Pervaiz Elahi was sitting with him in the car. How was our order violated when they were released? The lawyer said that he was arrested again to frustrate the order of this court. Parvez Elahi was kept in police lines. Islamabad Police, CTD and plain clothes were standing at the gate.

Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri said that Parvez Elahi has been remanded by the relevant court.

During the hearing, Advocate General Islamabad told the court that Pervez Elahi has been released on the order of this court. On which Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri said that now the statement of Advocate General has also come. We suspended the 3MO order without notifying the other side. Now that case is going on, DC has given notice to Islamabad for Tuesday. If Parvez Elahi had not been released, the court would have taken strict action.

Later, the Islamabad High Court dismissed the contempt petition filed by Parvez Elahi for re-arresting him after his arrest from jail.
