Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President and Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah issued a statement on not holding Asia Cup matches in Pakistan.
Asian Cricket Council President Jai Shah informed the ACC members through an email and said that broadcasters, media rights holders were reluctant to hold all Asia Cup matches in Pakistan while security issues and economic conditions were also the major reasons.
He said that as the ACC president, I was determined to hold the tournament, so Sri Lanka was made a joint host and it was also held in Pakistan under the hybrid model, but it is noteworthy that the leadership of the PCB There were several changes which resulted in some back and forth negotiations involving important aspects like tax exemption and insurance for the matches.

Members of the Asian Council were expressing concerns about playing one-day matches in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the month of September due to the summer rains, while there were fears of injury and performance of players due to the schedule.

It should be noted that there are no security issues in Pakistan while big teams like Australia, England and New Zealand have visited Pakistan in the last one year.
On BCCI J Shah’s statement, Pakistani cricket fans are calling him political because the board is afraid that they might lose to Pakistan at home ground.
