Karachi: The salaries of PIA officers and employees for the current month have not yet been paid, while the salaries may be delayed further.
Sources say that due to the freezing of accounts by the FBR, the current month’s salaries could not be paid to the employees and officers of PIA groups one to four, while the salaries of the officers above group four have also been delayed. A few days ago, the FBR had frozen the accounts of the national airline in connection with the collection of federal excise tax.

Sources say that despite the closure of accounts being settled, the national airline management does not have the money to pay the salaries to the employees, the said money is being arranged with a government agency.
It should be noted that the amount of salaries of PIA staff is around one billion 10 crore rupees, last month the Civil Aviation Authority took the money to pay the salaries of the employees.
