Karachi: Pakistan won the T20I series 0-3 against South Africa in a whitewash.
In the third and final T20 international match at the National Stadium Karachi, the national women’s team defeated the South African team by 6 runs.
South Africa’s women’s team, who are visiting Pakistan for the first time, won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first.
Pakistani batsmen batted smoky for the third consecutive match and scored 150 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, amazingly 150 runs were scored in the first innings of the three matches.
Sudara Amin and Bisma Maruf scored 39 and 39 respectively, captain Nida Dar scored an aggressive 36 off 20 balls which included 5 fours and the only six of the innings. Shawal Zulfikar scored 19 runs and Muniba Ali scored 8 runs.
In reply, the South African team managed to score 144 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in pursuit of the target. Captain Laura Walwardt played an innings of 72 runs off 54 balls, which included 9 fours.
Nadine Clarke scored 20 runs, Terman Britts scored 18 runs, San Luce scored 13 runs and Anke Boch scored 10 runs, Nasheer Sindhu scored 16 runs and Sadia Iqbal scored 25 runs to run 2 players. South African captain Laura was named player of the match and player of the tournament.
Pakistan won the first match by 5 wickets and the second match by 7 wickets. The first match of the 3-match ODI women’s series between Pakistan and South Africa will be played on September 8 at National Stadium Karachi.
