Peshawar: Yasir Hussain, director of the food department, has dismissed the news of sugar shortage in the province as baseless and said that there is no crisis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Talking to the media, Director Food Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said that the annual sugar requirement of the entire province is 979 thousand metric tons, the province has around 190 thousand metric tons of sugar, while sugar mills have a stock of 171 thousand metric tons of sugar. available.
He said that 15,000 to 20,000 metric tons of sugar are available with the dealers in different districts, the next crushing season will start in November, so there is no shortage of sugar.
He said that 4 lakh 66 thousand metric tons of sugar comes from Punjab and Sindh in the form of open trade.
