Karachi: During August 2023, the total sale of cement was 4.518 tons with an increase of 37.04%, while the sale of cement was 3.297 million tons in August 2022.
According to the data released by All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association, the domestic market sales of cement in August 2023 was 3.793 million tons, which is 30.38% more than the local sales of 2.909 million tons in August 2022.
Compared to August 2022, the export of cement in August 2023 was also 7 lakh 24 thousand 777 tons with a significant increase of 87.07%, which was 3 lakh 87 thousand 440 tons in August 2022.
In August 2023, sales of cement factories in northern regions increased by 25.28% to 3.252 million tons, which was 2.596 million tons during August 2022.
The sale of cement in southern regions was 12 lakh 65 thousand tons during August 2023, which is 80.63% more than the sale of 70 lakh 436 tons in August 2022.
Similarly, 3.088 million tons of cement were sold in the local market during August 2023 from the cement factories of the northern regions, which is 23.32% more than the sale of 2.504 million tons in August 2022.
The local sales of cement factories in southern regions in August 2023 was 74,582 tons, which is 73.99% more than the sales of 4,4959 tons in August 2022.
During August 2023, one lakh 64 thousand 195 tons of cement was exported from the northern regions, which is 78.54% more than the 91 thousand 963 tons of export in August 2022.
In August 2023, the export of cement from the cement factories of southern regions was 5 lakh 60 thousand 582 tons, which was 89.72% more than the export of August 2022 of 2 lakh 95 thousand 477 tons.
The total sales of cement (local and export) during the first two months of this financial year, July-August, was 7.747 million tons, which is 45.17% more than the sales of 5.337 tons in the same period of the previous financial year.
Domestic consumption of cement during the two months was 6.573 million tonnes, which is 37.05% higher than the sales of 4.796 million tonnes in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
During July-August 2023, the export of cement increased by 117.13% to 1.175 million tons, while the export of the same period of the previous financial year was recorded at 540 thousand 957 tons.
