Lawyers announce agitation against taxes on electricity, gas and petrol

Peshawar: Lawyers have announced a movement against taxes imposed on electricity, gas and petroleum products.

According to Express News, an important meeting of Peshawar High Court Bar lawyers against inflation in the country was held in Peshawar in which several resolutions were passed against recent inflation.

Resolutions were passed to end free incentives given to government officers, to withdraw free units from those who use free electricity, to withdraw vehicles from officers who have more than one vehicle, and to punish the accused involved in corruption. Gone.

The lawyers demanded in the resolutions that a transparent election should be held immediately within the constitutional period, the special committee of lawyers would put their recommendations before the Chief Minister and the Governor.

President High Court Bar Association Tariq Afridi Advocate said that now they are starting a movement against inflation, they will also invite political parties, meet the Chief Minister and the Governor, and approach the courts, if the demands are not accepted. Then the political parties, businessmen and student organizations will start a protest movement, we will not sit comfortably until the inflation is reduced.

Tariq Afridi Advocate said that government officers and WAPDA people are given free units and the burden falls on the poor people, the free units should be abolished immediately.

General Secretary High Court Bar Association Lajbar Khan said that the inflation has now become unbearable for the people. Fad Gul Advocate said that lawyers have always raised their voice for the poor class and still have to raise their voice. Shah Faisal Atmanakhil Advocate said that in 2007, the lawyers started the movement from Peshawar, today the lawyers have started the movement from Peshawar also against inflation, the lawyers have to come out now for the survival of the country.

Member Pakistan Bar Council Khushdal Khan Advocate said that the loan taken from the IMF was spent where? People are paying taxes which are not even due to them. Muazzam Butt Advocate said that we do not accept the rule of IMF and will not allow it to be imposed on the people. Mehm Afridi advocate said that if the caretaker prime minister cannot reduce the prices, then he does not have the power to increase them, we will not sit comfortably until the prices are reduced.
