Police not doing responsibility, poor investigation creating problems, Supreme Court

Islamabad: During the hearing of the murder case, Justice Mazahir Ali Naqvi has remarked that the police are not fulfilling their responsibilities, poor investigation is creating problems.

The murder case of a citizen named Akbar was heard in Sheikhupura, which was heard by a 2-member bench of the Supreme Court comprising Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi and Justice Jamal Mandukhel. The court reserved its decision on the bail application of accused Sanul Yusuf.

During the hearing, Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi reprimanded the RPO and DPO Sheikhupora for the poor investigation and said that the poor police investigation is creating problems for the people. Police are not fulfilling their responsibility. The police have to investigate according to the law, not at will. There is a case of murder, someone’s life has been taken.

RPO Babar Sarfraz told the court that the investigating officer had sought an explanation on the show-cause notice for the flawed investigation, to which Justice Jamal Mandukhel said that how the investigating officer acquitted him on the statement of the accused. Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi, while talking to IO Arif, inquired on whose request the accused was declared innocent, to which the investigating officer replied that he wrote the report on the request of DSP Ferozewala Mian Shafqat.

It should be noted that accused Sanul Yusuf is accused of killing a citizen named Akbar in June 2022 over a land dispute.
