Latif Siddiqui was born in Karachi, studied at a shipping school, became a naval engineer, had a falling out with his teacher and refused to give him a certificate. I got a job.
Indian and British were his seniors in the company. Both of them recognized his skills so much that they became his advocates. His case went to Parliament. The law of Singapore was changed and he got a job in Singapore. And citizenship too. They are currently running their own shipping company. Their ships deliver 80,000 and 90,000 animals from Australia, New Zealand and Latin America to Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states. There is an office in Karachi and also in Singapore.
During the time of Imran Khan, he gave a proposal to the government of Pakistan, if you give me a chance, we can make Pakistan’s merchant navy independent and make its size international, but this proposal was between Zulfi Bukhari and Ali Zaidi. “Football is over” I went to Singapore for two days last week and I agreed to walk with Latif Bhai “They used to come to the hotel at night and I used to walk along Orchard Road with them”. During this time, he used to tell stories of different countries and sea voyages.
“Merchant Navy is a great profession,” he said. “It is in demand all over the world. It has money and exposure. You tell the youth to enter this field. They will become rich in a few days and the whole world will.” It will be open for them’ there is a training institute for it in Karachi and it does not require much qualification and qualification for admission ‘these people can also do jobs while studying’ I promised them. I will also do a vlog and write a column on it after doing regular research.
As we were walking on Orchard Road, Latif Siddiqui narrated the incident of his heart attack. He said, “I was sitting at home in the evening. My children were watching TV and playing video games while Begum was in the hospital.” I was on duty (Latif Siddiqui’s wife is a doctor). “I won’t be able to” I looked left and right in surprise but there was no one in the room.
I didn’t feel any pain or discomfort in any part of my body, just a little discomfort, but my intuition was telling me that I was sitting on the threshold of death and I must do something to save myself, so I got up. opened the door and said in a loud voice to his children, “This is an emergency, you guys, turn off the TV immediately. Call an ambulance and bring the neighbor to me.” The children turned off the TV, called the ambulance and ran away. Bring the neighbor’ this poor bengali and she has a very good alik slack with me’ I was lying on the bed reading the word out loud by this time.
I was feeling like ‘my last time has come and I am not far from death’ my neighbor got scared and he also started reading the word out loud by the door. They are standing up, they reach the desired place in three minutes, my ambulance also arrived immediately, they saw me, put a pill under my tongue, informed the doctor at the hospital and picked me up and rushed to the hospital. “The operation theater and doctors were ready before we reached the hospital.
I was immediately taken to theater and within 40 minutes my angiography was done and my closed van was opened ‘my blood had formed a clot’ if I hadn’t reported it in time I would have actually died in the bedroom’ to God my life Manzoor tha channancha mai bach gaya’ I also changed my lifestyle after that ‘food too and now I also take regular walks’ I asked Latif Siddiqui ‘how did you know you were having a heart attack? He said this is strange.
I had read some literature about heart attack and there were no effects in my body, I just heard a voice, I sat up and I made immediate arrangements, I agreed and submitted. Nature informs the human before every accident or trouble. If the human understands this signal as the voice of Allah and it gets up and arranges itself like you, then it is saved, but if it shakes it thinking it is an illusion. Then it doesn’t end well’ Our conversation then changed and we started discussing various signs of nature.
We were walking.” Meanwhile, I remembered two such incidents. “A gentleman came to me a few months ago. said in my ear, get off this car immediately, there is going to be an accident’ I looked left and right in surprise ‘my friends were dozing off’ none of them said this phrase’ I thought it was my illusion but then no Don’t know why I said to the friend who was driving ‘you drop me down immediately’ he asked in surprise what happened ‘how are you?
I said to him ‘I’m getting sick’ I’m going to throw up and it’s going to make your car dirty’ my friend had bought a new car so he put on the brakes immediately’ I got out of the car and ran down the road. The edge sat in the tea house ‘friend was in a hurry’ he told me you rest here ‘we will come back in half an hour’ I nodded yes and lay down on the bed of the tea house ‘my friends went and Never came back again’ At the next turn there was an accident with In Katrik ‘I still wonder where that voice in my ears came from and what would have become of me if I hadn’t paid attention to it?
The second incident was that of my old friend Saifuddin Hisam. Saif Sahib used to work in the British Council, Lahore. I used to go to Jhelum to meet him and take full advantage of his study and observation. He suddenly felt a tingle in his heart and he came to Islamabad. I took him to the doctor.
After the examination, the doctor suggested angiography. His procedure was normal. There was no danger. He came to my house a day before the angiography. I was living in a one and a half marla house in Rawal Town those days. People used to call these houses Kharli Houses. Rawal Town was basically a Gowala colony. They were renting out these houses.
I used to live in a similar house on rent of two thousand rupees. Hisam Sahib came and asked me for tea and after that he said to me, Javed son, I have come to meet you for the last time. I am not here tomorrow. “I’ll have children,” I replied with a chuckle. “Three million angiograms are done every day in the world.” It’s not an operation, it’s a minor procedure. “Why are you taking it so seriously?” He smiled and looked at me and said, “I had the same thought, but I was lying down this morning when I heard a voice in my ear, “Sif, will you spend the last day of your life lying down?”
This was a sign for me, so I came to you and from here I will go to my son’s house, meet my son and daughter-in-law and then write the last chapter of my book. He ignored me and gave me different lessons of life. He said that life is only what we are living. There is nothing behind and there is nothing ahead. However, live each day of life as the last day so that there is no regret or regret. He then got up and went to his son’s house in Satellite Town.
The next day he reached the hospital and during the angiography he actually died. Every time I remember him after 30 years, I ask myself if death really told him the day before that tomorrow will be your last day. I found the answer to this question thirty years later while walking on Orchard Road ‘Nature really informs man before both death and life and it is up to us whether we consider this message as illusion or reality! However, nature does its duty.
