Rawalpindi: After a triple century of petrol and diesel price, now the price of sugar has increased tremendously.
In the open market of Rawalpindi, sugar in the inner city was Rs 190 per kg and in the suburban areas it was Rs 195 per kg. A 50 kg bag of sugar has increased to Rs 9050 while the supply of sugar has also decreased.
According to Central Grocery Merchants Association Salim Parvez Butt President, due to increase in wholesale price of sugar, they started selling sugar at Rs 190 per kg. He said that due to 9050 rupees bag, transportation, loading and unloading expenses, sugar in retail is expected to be 200 rupees, they cannot buy expensive sugar and sell cheap.
