Terrorist Financing Case;  Iman Mazari's bail granted after arrest

Islamabad: Advocate Iman Mazari’s post-arrest bail application was approved in the case of financial support to terrorists.

The Anti-Terrorism Court accepted the bail application of Iman Mazari in the case registered in Bahara Kahu Police Station against a bond of Rs.10,000. Iman Mazari’s mother Shireen Mazari, lawyers Zainab Janjua and Qaiser Imam appeared in the hearing in front of Judge Abul Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain.

The court granted Iman Mazari’s post-arrest bail application and ordered him to submit a bond of 20,000 rupees. However, on the request of the lawyers, the fine was reduced to 10,000.

The Anti-Terrorism Court had ordered the judicial remand of Iman Mazari in the previous hearing, following which a post-arrest bail application was filed for Iman Mazari. On the request of Iman Mazari’s lawyers, the court fixed the bail application for hearing today. The court also ordered Iman Mazari to be kept in Police Station Women Islamabad instead of Adiala Jail.

A written order was issued to stop Iman Mazari from being arrested in any case

Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court issued a written order restraining Iman Mazari from being arrested in any case.

In the order issued by Islamabad High Court Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb, it is said that according to SSP operations, there are 3 cases against Iman Mazari in Islamabad and Iman Mazari is on bail in 2 cases in Islamabad.

According to the order, the petitioner’s mother said that there is a fear of arrest again in case of bail in the third case, on which the court ordered that the Interior Secretary, IG Islamabad and DGFI Iman Mazari will not be arrested. Neither will assist in the arrest on behalf of any province.

The court ordered that the parties ensure that Iman Mazari is not taken outside the limits of Islamabad. Please inform the provinces by Monday about the cases against Interior Secretary Iman Mazari.
