Islamabad: President Dr. Arif Alvi approved the formation of National Economic Council, the council has total 13 members in which the Prime Minister of Pakistan will be the chairman.
According to Express News, the President approved the formation of the National Economic Council under Article 156 of the Constitution and the Rules of Business, under which this council is responsible for reviewing the overall economic situation of the country and making financial, commercial, social and economic policies. Responsible for planning.
The Council includes the Prime Minister and the Chief Ministers of the four provinces, the Council also includes representatives of the caretaker governments from the four provinces.
Among them are caretaker minister for energy and industry, commerce, investment and skills SM Tanveer from Punjab, minister for finance, revenue, planning and development from Sindh Muhammad Younis Daga, minister for finance, revenue, excise, taxation and drugs from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Ahmad Rasool Bangash and Finance and Revenue Minister Amjad Rashid from Balochistan are included.
The Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue, Economic Affairs and Privatization will also be members of the Council, the Minister of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives and the Federal Minister of Communications, Railways and Maritime Affairs will also join the Council. And petroleum is also included.
