Karachi: Gulshan Iqbal Police arrested the accused who crushed several persons including father and daughter under the vehicle after a tough struggle and seized the Vigo vehicle.
According to the details, the driver of Vigo seriously injured a father, two young daughters and a niece near Gulshan Iqbal Takoon Park on the evening of Sunday, August 27, 2023, who are still undergoing treatment in a private hospital, while the driver of Vigo fell on the road. The injured persons fled from the spot by climbing the vehicle.
The footage of this incident went viral on social media on Wednesday night, after which the police were mobilized to arrest the accused.
SHO Gulshan Iqbal Arshad Afridi said that the driver of the arrested vehicle, Muawiya Gulshan Iqbal, is a resident of Block 7 and an LLB student who told the police in his initial statement that he was scared after the accident due to which he took the opportunity. However, the police are investigating the arrested accused further.
It should be noted that the caretaker Interior Minister Sindh Brigadier (Rtd) Haris Nawaz also took notice of the incident and issued instructions to the SSP East to track down the driver and arrest him.
