The ban on approval of plans for residential and commercial constructions in Sindh has been lifted

Karachi: The caretaker government has announced to lift the ban on approval of plans for residential and commercial constructions.

Caretaker Provincial Local Government Minister Muhammad Mubeen Jumani has said that from today we have lifted the ban on all residential and commercial maps and issued instructions to SBCA to approve all legal residential and commercial maps and plans.

He said that illegal maps and plans will not be approved under any circumstances and if any complaints are received in this regard, strict action will be taken against the concerned officer.

The DGSBCA has once again issued instructions for the survey of illegal buildings in Karachi so that action can be taken against the then officers in the districts where such buildings have been established.

The Provincial Local Government Minister said that illegal buildings are not being regularized but measures will be taken to secure the life and property of the people by conducting a survey of such buildings by third party engineers.

He expressed these views while presiding over the Sindh Building Control Authority meeting in his office on Wednesday. Additional Chief Secretary Sindh Najam Ahmad Shah, Special Secretary Local Government Noor Ahmad Samun, DGSBCA Muhammad Yasin Shar, SBCA officers and others also participated in the meeting.

In the meeting, the caretaker Provincial Minister of Local Government Muhammad Mubeen Jumani said that we had banned the maps and plans only to stop illegal constructions, but now we have given strict instructions to all the officers that no illegal maps or plans are allowed. If approved, strict action will be taken against him.

Muhammad Mubin Jumani said that there is no truth in the news of legalizing illegal buildings. We have asked for a list of all the illegal buildings to know in which district in which period and in the presence of which officer these buildings were built.

The provincial minister said that all the officers of the Sindh Building Control Authority should make an effort that their full attention should be paid to minimizing the constraints and problems of the common citizens.

Muhammad Mubeen Jumani said that SBCA should further activate its one-window system to provide maximum facilities to small house builders.
