Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) official Irfan Iqbal Shaikh says that businesses cannot run due to unaffordable high cost of electricity.
While giving a press conference in Lahore, Irfan Iqbal Sheikh said that citizens are very worried because of electricity bills, people and businessmen are worried because of expensive electricity, expensive electricity is oppression on businessmen and people.
He said that FPCCI rejects the electricity prices, increasing the electricity prices will worsen the economy.
He said that he repeatedly said that bring a new policy for overseas Pakistanis, and the new policy for overseas Pakistanis will increase remittances.
He said that we have published a research paper on energy which has been sent to the authorities to work on it, the government will not consult with traders and industrialists and the problem will not be solved.
The FPCI official said that the government should not increase the price so much that the consumers cannot pay the bills, the power plant owners should be brought down in consultation with the power plant owners.
He further said that if the employee of the department is not involved, no businessman can steal electricity, electricity theft, free electricity supply to government employees and officers should be stopped.
