Lahore: Lahore Traffic Police has started making fool-proof traffic arrangements for the three ODI matches of the Asia Cup.
According to the details, the Afghanistan team has reached Lahore for the Asia Cup series, which was led by CTO Lahore Captain (retd) Mustansar Firoz and conveyed the guest players to the hotel.
The first match of the Asia Cup will be played on September 03, the second on September 5, while the third and final match will be played on September 6 at Gaddafi Stadium. The traffic police has started making foolproof arrangements for the three matches.
CTO Lahore said that in total, 10 DSPs, 110 traffic inspectors and more than 02 thousand traffic personnel under the supervision of SP President Malik Ikramullah, SP City Shahzad Khan and SP Headquarters Sohail Fazil are in hotels, airports, Gaddafi will perform duty at the stadium and parking points.
He said that 20 forklifts, 03 breakdowns have also been deployed to eliminate wrong parking. CTO Lahore said that fans will be able to park their vehicles at Cricket Government College Gulberg, Liberty Parking and LDA Plaza. Foolproof traffic arrangements have been made from the hotel to Gaddafi Stadium and from the stadium to the hotel.
He said that the roads will be closed for a minimum period of time for the movement of the teams and after the passage of the teams, the alternative routes will be opened for traffic, no road will be closed permanently.
He said that traffic will flow as usual on Mall Road, Jail Road, Canal Road, Ferozepur Road, Main Boulevard Gulberg Road, according to the traffic plan fans coming from Mall Road, Jail Road, Canal Road, Cricket Ferozepur Road, Gate Govt. can park at College for Boys while fans coming from Thokar Niaz Baig will be able to park at Government College for Boys from Cricket Campus Pul Barkat Market, Kalma Underpass.
Similarly, cricket fans from Cantt, Defence, Cavalry will be able to park at Hussain Chowk, Liberty Parking and Sunfort Hotel parking from Firdous Market and fans from Kasur, Kahuna Model Town can park at Ferozpur Main Gate and Central Park along with Govt. Parking will be available in the college.
Apart from this, the cricket fans on foot will be able to enter the stadium from FIFA Gate, Liberty and Government College. CTO Lahore said that citizens and cricket fans will not have any traffic problems, citizens will be kept informed through Rasta app, Rasta FM 88.6.
