Kuwait’s labor force reaches 3 million, including domestic workers, the highest number of Indian employees in the Arab country.
According to foreign media reports, during the first seven months of this year i.e. by July 2023, the number of labor force including domestic workers in Kuwait has reached 3 million, while this number was around 2.8 million by December 2022.
More than 30 percent of the new employees who have joined Kuwait’s workforce are Indians. About 877,000 Indian male and female workers are serving in Kuwait, followed by Egyptians, Kuwaitis, Filipinos and Banglas. Native workers are there in large numbers.
In addition to domestic employees, the number of workers in the public and private sectors increased by about 39,000 in the first 7 months of this year, reaching 2.075 million by the end of July 2023.
The number of Kuwaiti workers has also increased, reaching 450,000 by the end of July 2023, with 94% of the increase in employees being expatriates.
