Islamabad: It has been revealed that government employees consume 34 crore units of free electricity per month.
Sources say that the power division has covered up the big incident by pretending the proposal to end the free electricity of government officials from grade 17 to 21. Sources say that ending the free electricity of 15 thousand employees will not make a big difference, but for a big difference in the tariff, it is necessary to end the free electricity facility of all the employees.
The document revealed that 15,971 employees of grades 17 to 21 consume 7 million units of free electricity per month. Compared to this, the employees from grade one to 16 are using 33 crore units of free electricity per month, whose number is 1 lakh 73 thousand 200, these government employees use free electricity worth 10 billion annually.
According to the document, the employees of grade 17 to 21 are using free electricity worth 1.25 billion rupees annually, while the employees of grade 1 to 16 are using free electricity worth 76.43 million rupees per month.
Power Ministry officials say that eliminating free electricity for employees from grades 17 to 21 will save Rs 19 crore per month. By eliminating free electricity units and adding a certain amount to the salary, this gap will be reduced further.
