California: Meta continues to introduce new features for the convenience of users in messaging platform WhatsApp.
The tech company also introduced the feature to send videos in HD resolution in the Android version after adding support for HD photos in its subsidiary application WhatsApp. will be available. Users will be able to see the HD option at the top of the screen while sending videos.
After selecting this option, users will have the option to send their video in standard quality (which is usually 480 pixel resolution) or in HD quality (ie 720 pixel resolution).
However, users will not be able to send video in better quality than 720 pixel resolution even if the original video is Full HD i.e. 1080 pixels or 4K i.e. 2160 pixels.
While selecting video quality, WhatsApp will warn users that standard quality videos use less storage space and are sent faster. Users will also be able to clearly notice the file size difference between the two files.
But users won’t be able to set HD quality as the app’s default setting, an option they’ll have to choose every time they send a video in high quality.
The feature has been rolled out on Thursday with the 2.23.17.74 update of WhatsApp for Android.
