California: A fighter plane of the US Air Force crashed near a military base in California. Investigations are underway to find out the reasons for the accident.

The F/A 18 Hornet jet crashed about 15 miles from downtown San Diego near Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.
A statement issued by the Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) said there were no indications of property damage on the ground as a result of the crash.
According to NBC News, crews from the San Diego Fire Rescue Department and a helicopter are busy searching for the wreckage of the plane.
It may be noted that in 2008, an F/A 18 operating from Miramar crashed in a residential area of San Diego, killing four people while the pilot survived the incident.
